1. Fish cakes
Every year during the Chinese New Year, Wenzhou people always have fish cakes on their dining tables, which are a delicious traditional folk specialty. It is generally made from fresh marine fish such as mackerel and mackerel from the East China Sea, with unique seasonings, and refined using traditional formulas and advanced techniques. Fish cakes have a smooth and clean appearance, with a fragrant, tender, smooth, and soft texture. They have a very fresh taste, with a moderate degree of toughness and crispness. They have become an indispensable accompaniment to people's drinking and dining tables, and are also my favorite.
2. Sauce Meat
Wenzhou people, who have always been particular about food, have a special fondness for sauce meat. Before the Chinese New Year, every household in Wenzhou prepares soy sauce meat. The braised meat, slightly marinated in soy sauce and then air dried, is filled with a sunny atmosphere and warm memories of home. The steamed Wenzhou soy sauce meat is not salty or hard. In addition to the flavor of soy sauce, it also has the sweet taste of Braised pork belly in brown sauce. The five flowered part is the best to eat, with a little oily feeling.
3. Yusheng shrimp paste
Wenzhou people's feelings for shrimp paste and Yusheng are incomprehensible to outsiders, and the taste of Wenzhou shrimp paste is also delicious! So almost all the consumers of shrimp sauce are locals from Wenzhou. Wenzhou people are used to adding some meat, seasoning, old wine, and finally shrimp sauce to the steamer. Steam it and it's ready to eat. The aroma of meat combined with the taste of marinated and fermented seafood is intoxicating.
4. Wenzhou dried noodles
Wenzhou dried noodles have a history of nearly a thousand years, and dried noodles can be said to be one of the hometown delicacies that Wenzhou people miss the most outside. The most commonly eaten dish by the editor is Wenzhou's unique sweet potato stir fried vermicelli. Sweet and sticky sweet potato chunks are stir fried together with flavorful vermicelli, which is sweet, fresh, and salty, and very delicious. Of course, you can also have a luxurious version of Wenzhou dried noodles, where you can mix dried shrimp, dried yellow cabbage, dried mushrooms, dried squid, and beaten fish cakes into a bowl of dried noodles. The delicious taste is addictive.
5. Long Fish Balls
Wenzhou's fish balls are quite unique. They are not round in shape, but rather irregular long strips. In 1998, "Wenzhou Fish Ball" was designated as a "Chinese Famous Snack". Mix fish, meat, and noodles in proportion, and after beating and kneading, the long fish balls are delicate, tender, and fragrant. Paired with rice vinegar, chopped scallions, and pepper powder, just thinking about it makes my appetite soar.

It uses pure glutinous rice from this year, ground into a fine powder with water, and added with a little pig fat diced meat, osmanthus flowers, and white sugar. After steaming, cut it into pieces. When eaten hot, sponge cake is sweet, sticky, and soft. When eaten slightly cool, it is more resilient and has a richer flavor.

Wenzhou braised sauce duck tongue is very famous, which is made by blowing the marinated duck tongue to half dry. Chewing on a duck tongue in your mouth, it has a strong toughness and a soft and smooth texture, making it a top-notch drink. The delicate taste of this delicious sauce aroma accompanied many daring Wenzhou people through their childhood and onto the world stage.
