Basic Introduction to Shidian Tea

Tea is distributed in 13 townships in Shidian County, involving more than 20000 households in 106 villages and nearly 80000 tea farmers. The tea plantation area is mainly distributed in the southern mountainous areas. The tea plantation areas in Yaoguan, Jiufang, and Wanxing townships account for more than 70% of the total tea plantation area in the county, and the output accounts for more than 80%. Since 2008, in accordance with the requirements of the Municipal People's Government to accelerate the development of the tea industry, our county has vigorously promoted the construction of high-quality tea gardens and increased the transformation of low yield tea gardens. Over the past two years, a total of 15000 mu of low yield tea gardens have been transformed and 12000 mu of new tea gardens have been planted. The total area of tea gardens in the county has reached 46000 mu, with a picking area of 32000 mu. 12000 mu of certified pollution-free tea gardens and 1310 mu of organic tea gardens have been established. There are currently 18 initial tea processing plants and 3 key tea production enterprises, including Wanxing Tea Company and Bioengineering Company producing green tea, and Yongnian Tea Company producing Pu'er tea. The main tea brands include "Wanxing Bihao", "General Green", "Xiangrui", and "Yongnian Pu'er". In 2009, the county's dry tea production reached 1860 tons, which was basically the same as the previous year. The tea output value is expected to exceed 30 million yuan, of which the green tea production was 1010 tons, an increase of 14.4% over the previous year, with an output value of 16 million yuan
