Ivory Mango is produced in the surrounding areas of Weiyuan Town, Jinggu County. It has a planting history of 86 years, and the ancestor tree of Ivory Mango is still alive in the village of Mangmao Village, Weiyuan Town, Jinggu County. It was introduced by Mangmao Dai farmer Dao Tiqing from Chiang Mai, Thailand in 1914 and later propagated and developed in Jinggu. It is planted throughout the county and had more than 80000 plants by 1993. The ancestral tree in Mangmao Village still has lush branches and leaves, becoming a towering tree The ancestral tree of ivory mango is located at Mangmaozhaizitou on the east bank of Weiyuan River in the outskirts of the county. The tree is more than 10 meters high, with deep roots and lush leaves, shaped like a giant umbrella. It is a twin sister tree with the same seedling and connected roots, covering a radius of 12 meters. One tree has a trunk diameter of 0.74 meters, and the other has a trunk diameter of 0.61 meters. The two trees are separated by only one step, and their branches and leaves are intertwined, accompanying each other. The tree has been 86 years old so far. The Dai elderly man Dao Yongyan, who witnessed the introduction, survival, and reproduction of the ivory mango ancestor with his own eyes, wrote an article and engraved a monument to commemorate his events. This ivory mango ancestor tree was introduced from Jingmai, Thailand in 1914 during the Republic of China era. In the 24th year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty (1488), Zhao Hanzai, the uncle of Dao Yongyan of the Mangmao Dai ethnic group, was unable to withstand the rule of the Qing Dynasty. He placed his youngest daughter in the care of his father-in-law Dao Tiqing (Dao Yongyan's grandfather) and fled to Jingmai, Thailand. In 1914, Zhao Hanzai wrote a letter to his father-in-law Dao Tiqing to send his daughter to Thailand. After receiving the letter, Dao Tiqing personally sent Zhao Hanzai's daughter to Jingmai. During his time in Jingmai, Dao Tiqing tasted the delicious and sweet ivory mango, and had the idea of introducing high-quality ivory mango varieties to Mangmao. Dao Tiqing hired a dedicated person to transport ivory mango seedlings, sleeves, longan, orange seedlings, etc. back to Jinggu Mangmao. Dao Shuiyan's father, Dao Keming, followed his father Dao Tiqing's instructions and carefully cultivated and cared for them. In 1919, he introduced the first generation of ivory mangoes. After tasting them, relatives and friends requested fruit pits for introduction. By the eve of the founding of New China, more than 30 plants had developed and survived, and now the village has grown to over a thousand plants.
