Legend

Legend has it that Yunshanping is the place where the first pair of lovers of the Naxi people died for their love. According to legend, the founding fathers of the Naxi people's love death were Kaimei and Yulepai. Their love life, which was as loving as a bee flower, was disrupted by the feudal marriage of polygamy. They longed for a free love life and went to Yunshanping to love death together. So during the Torch Festival in June, young men and women who settled in villages near Yulongshan would weave paper figures with the symbols Kaimei and Yule Pai to come to Yunshanping to pay tribute to the first pair of founding fathers who died of love. Driving north along Xueshan Park for 25 kilometers, you will enter an open alpine meadow, which is called Ganhaizi. Ganhaizi is a natural grassland pasture with gentle and undulating terrain, with low pine trees scattered on the vast meadow. In the vast grasslands, hidden by vegetation, yaks emerge and hide, presenting a "highland pasture scenery".

It is regarded as the entrance to the "Jade Dragon Third Country" in Naxi mythology and legend. In ancient times, when Shan and Gu would fall in love, there was a couple in love at the foot of Yulong Mountain. The man's name was Aruo and the woman's name was Amin. When Ah Ruo and Ah Ming reached the age of brewing rainwater in the Fengyun production area, they quietly fell in love during the season when the torch pear was ripe. The seeds of love sown during the Torch Festival have also come to bloom and bear fruit. There are unpredictable storms in the sky, and the free love between Aruo and Amin is not about forming a lifelong couple, but about hoping to go to Yulong Mountain and die in love, to live the life of a lover who will never age after death. There is also a saying among the Naxi people that goes, 'A lifetime of love is better than being an emperor for three generations.'. The free love between Aruo and Amin cannot violate this ancient rule. They cut a strand of hair towards the holy Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, devoutly burned the fragrance of harmony, and also exchanged the words of "You Wu" with each other. Ah Ming thought of this and pulled out the cork of the Caowu Poison Wine bottle, drinking three sips of the poison wine with her mouth against the bottom of the bottle. Ah Ming calmly combed her hair, holding the love death rope in her hand, slowly approaching a love death tree. A cold wind started to blow up the snow capped mountains, causing the three stars to tilt westward. The white pheasants in the cedar forest began to cry, and Ah Ruo saw this group of lovesick ghosts disappear in an instant. The sunlight happily wiped red the face of the snow capped mountains, and the cedar forest, which had been haunted by lovesick ghosts all night, fell silent again. Aruo crawled out of the flock in panic and saw that in the dense forest like bamboo forest in the fir forest yesterday, a flat field had appeared this morning. Facing the footprints of the dance circle on the lovesick field, Aruo couldn't tell whether he felt guilty or missed his lover who died for love. Aruo sat blankly in the center of the field, and suddenly the sound of the love god, Lord Azhu, and the Getuxi hexagram, teasing young men and women, echoed in Aruo's ears: "Please come to the land where the soil will turn black without plowing, and the crops will turn green without sowing; come to the land where there are no mosquitoes that feed on blood, no flies that eat meat; come to the land where the red tiger rides, the red deer plows, the pheasant is the morning chicken, and the fox is the watchdog. Come to this land of love and death, come drink the clear spring water of the mountains, come suck the honey dew on the flower trees, come squeeze the milk of the divine cow, cut a piece of clothing that will never be worn out, and live forever. Youth will never age. Come to the Land of Love Death." Upon hearing the enchanting and joyful sound of the love god's voice, Aruo couldn't help but feel a deep sense of loneliness and sorrow. A trace of disgust towards the mundane world surged in his heart, and he longed for the happiness of the land of paradise, Unconsciously, he walked out of the field and muttered to himself, "Ah Ming Mei, wait for me, my brother is also here."

Ah Ruo walked sadly into the cedar forest and chose an old tree with twisted branches. He hung the noose on the tree and also sacrificed himself for his love.

Precautions
