Overview

The Red Scarf Park is located in Bali Village outside Chaoyang Gate. It was built in 1958 and covers an area of 95000 square meters with a water surface of 200000 square meters

The ground is mainly a children's playground, and various boats float on the water surface. Before the 1970s, the lake water here was clear and the scenery was beautiful. However, it was severely damaged due to environmental pollution. In 1989, after dredging and treatment, it regained its former appearance. In May 1991, a group of sculptures of young heroes were completed here, showcasing the stories of outstanding young heroes from different historical periods of the Chinese revolution to tourists wearing red scarves, inspiring today's children to strive for excellence

Introduction

The Red Scarf Park is located in Houbalizhuang, Chaoyang Gate, Chaoyang District, with Chaoyang North Road on the side and the East Fourth Ring Road passing through the park. The park was built in 1958 and covers an area of 40 hectares, including 16 hectares of water surface. The park has a green area of 230000 square meters, with a green coverage rate of 57%. There are over 10000 trees and perennial flowers, and 66000 square meters of lawn. Providing good educational venues and healthy growth services for teenagers is its main function. In 1999, the Red Scarf Park began its renovation, with the main idea of highlighting the service tenet of leisure, entertainment, education, fitness, and practice suitable for young people. After the renovation, the planned green space will be expanded and 17 functional areas will be set up, including three different types of squares, science popularization education, wilderness survival, catering services, lake island amusement, water play, revolutionary traditional education, youth training, lotus viewing, plant viewing, boating, fishing, water activities, etc. Currently, five functional areas have been formed. The renovated Red Scarf Park exudes a modern and civilized atmosphere, with no shortage of exquisite gardens, making it an ideal playground for young people

Main attractions

"Song of the Red Scarf" Theme Square: Located on the west side of the south gate square area of the park, with an area of 2324.2 square meters, the northern end stands with the "Song of the Red Scarf" theme sculpture

Five radiating steel columns are adorned with glittering torches, and the background is surrounded by a semi-circular relief, showcasing the vibrant and promising future of young children living on the land of our motherland. The ground paved with granite depicts a picture of a five starred red flag rising slowly in the face of the rising sun, with a myriad of rosy rays. The dove of peace soars in the sky, and the youth grow strong in a peaceful and beautiful environment, like the sun at eight or nine o'clock in the morning. In front of the green pine and cypress trees on both sides of the square, eight sets of heroic statues of Lei Feng, Liu Hulan, Wang Pu, Liu Wenxue, Zhuoya, Xiao Luobutou, Zhang Jinhui, Luo Zhiqun, and Deng Jindi stand in sequence. Children's play area: located on the southeast side of the plant viewing area, it has two amusement parks, south and north, with a total area of 5745.8 square meters. The north amusement park has a Smurfs amusement park, swing elephants, bumper cars, laser shooting, swing machines, squirrel fighting, camouflage electric scooters, Happy Castle, etc. The South Amusement Park (Dream Castle) has activities and facilities suitable for young children's play, such as somersaults, building blocks, large inflatable toys, mazes, etc., which can be played all year round. In the southern part of the amusement area, there are zodiac fountains, sunshine corridors, fitness corridors, science popularization display windows, and pebble paved leisure squares. There is a fan-shaped observation deck filled with flowers on the central lake shore in the area, where visitors can stop and admire the beautiful scenery of the park
