Introduction
& nbsp; Located in Longzhou County, it is a national patriotic education base. In the spring of 1930, Deng Xiaoping led the famous Longzhou Uprising here and personally planted two cypress trees in front of the military department. The memorial hall is located in Xinjie, Longzhou Town, the county town, also known as the Red Army Building. It consists of the former site of the Red Eighth Army Headquarters, the former site of the Zuojiang Revolutionary Committee, and a newly built exhibition and display building. The former site of the military headquarters is a French three story building with brick walls and wooden floors; The former site of the Zuojiang Revolutionary Committee is a Chinese style two-story brick and wood structure building, both of which were originally "Ruifengxiang" banks. Comrade Deng Xiaoping went to Longzhou in 1929 to arrange the preliminary work for the uprising. In 1930, when he led the victory of the Longzhou Uprising and established the Red Eighth Army, he worked and lived here, serving as the command center of the Red Eighth Army. During this period, Comrade Deng Xiaoping planted two cypress trees in front of the military department, which are still lush, vigorous, and full of vitality. Comrade Deng Xiaoping asked twice about the growth of these two cypress trees in 1971 and 1978. The newly constructed exhibition building is a three story reinforced concrete structure with a modern architectural style, collecting and displaying historical artifacts of the Red Eighth Army soldiers. The former sites of the Military Headquarters and the Left River Revolutionary Committee have always been well protected. After liberation, they served as the headquarters of the County People's Bank and were listed as autonomous region level cultural relics protection units in February 1963. In 1985, a memorial hall was built and an opening ceremony was held on the 55th anniversary of the Longzhou Uprising on February 1st. Qin Yingji, Chairman of the Autonomous Region Political Consultative Conference, went to Longzhou to cut the ribbon for the opening of the memorial hall. In 1988, it was designated as a national key cultural relic protection unit, and the conference room and Deng Xiaoping bedroom from that year were restored. In June 2001, it was designated as one of the national demonstration bases for patriotic education by the Central Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China
