Introduction
& nbsp; Located in Lugang Town, Changhua County, it is the crown of over 400 Mazu temples in Taiwan. The palace was built in 1685 (the 24th year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty) with donations from Fujian Xinghua residents living in Lugang, and is also known as the "Xinghua Mazu Palace". The current appearance of the temple was rebuilt in 1936 by skilled craftsmen, resulting in a grand and magnificent temple. It is known as one of the "Four Great Mazus" along with the Da Tian Hou Temple in Tainan City, the Chao Tian Temple in Beigang, and the Feng Tian Temple in Xingang. On the square in front of the temple, there is a huge memorial archway. Inside, there are mountain gates, dragon pillars, stone walls and lintels, which are delicately depicted. They are all based on historical stories. They are rare artistic sculptures. The Tianhou Palace is divided into two entrances, both of which enshrine the statue of Mazu. The main hall is adorned with a large calligraphy by Emperor Qianlong and two horizontal plaques stamped with jade seals, inscribed with the words "You Ji Zhao Ling" and "Shen Zhao Hai Biao". There is also a plaque personally awarded by Emperor Guangxu, which reads "Same with Heaven", hanging on the hall. In addition to the Mazu statue in the temple, there are also wooden carved statues of Qianliyan and Shunfeng'er from famous craftsmen in mainland China, with lifelike expressions. On the left and right sides of the temple, there are dragon towers and phoenix pavilions, namely the Dressing Tower and the Ascending Heaven Pavilion. Climbing above them, one can enjoy the scenery of the ancient town
