 & nbsp; Also known as Taichung Park, it is located between Section 2 of Ziyou Road and Gongyuan Road, in the center of the bustling city. It was built in 1903 (the 29th year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty). The park is surrounded by lush pine and cypress trees, with ancient forests towering high and deep, giving it a forest like atmosphere. There is a small lake in the garden, and the two pavilions connected to the lake are the famous Zhongzheng Pavilion, with exquisite and lovely red eaves and painted buildings. There are small boats for rent by the lake, which are available for tourists to stroll on the lake. There is a Moon Viewing Pavilion on the Fortress Mountain in the park, which is the remains of the North Gate Tower in the old city of Taichung. It was built in 1889 (the 15th year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty). During the Japanese occupation, all the city gates were demolished for road construction. In order to protect the historical site, the only remaining North Gate Tower was relocated to this location. The four pillars of the gatehouse stand on top, with a simple and solemn style, and the upturned eaves are very spectacular. Above the gate tower, there is a giant plaque hanging in the center that reads "Qu Zuo Ying Shen", inscribed by Huang Chengyi, a Taiwanese scholar.
