Introduction
& nbsp; The Caoling Ancient Road is located at the junction of Taipei County and Yilan County, with a total length of about 10 kilometers. It was an important transportation route between Taipei and Yilan during the Ming and Qing dynasties. After being renovated by the Northeast Corner Scenic Area Management Office, its integrity is still preserved today, and the trees along the way are even denser, with fresh scenery; From Gongliao in Beixian County to Dali in Yilan, the entire journey only takes 3 to 4 hours, which is very suitable for hiking in ancient times. The Ancient Trail Tourist Service Center near the Tiangong Temple in Dali can provide tourist consultation and rest services. There are two historical sites along the ancient road, namely the Tiger shaped Stele and the Xiongzhen Man Yan Stele. The Tiger shaped Stele is named after the phrase "Clouds follow the dragon, wind follows the tiger" because it is located at the highest point. From then on, one can gaze into the Pacific Ocean and Guishan Island from afar, with beautiful and pleasant scenery; The Xiongzhen Man Yan Stele is the ink treasure of the Qing Dynasty's General Mingdeng, aimed at suppressing malaria and ensuring the safety of travelers. During the renovation of the ancient road, fossils of ancient organisms from 30 million years ago were excavated, making this road even more historically valuable and educational
