Introduction Located in Jixian County, Tianjin City, with an area of 900 hectares, it was established in 1984 with the approval of the State Council. Its main protected object is the Middle Upper Proterozoic standard profile, and it is the first national geological profile nature reserve in China. The Zhongshang Proterozoic National Nature Reserve in Jixian County, Tianjin is the first national geological nature reserve in China, formed between 1.8 and 800 million years ago. It is known as a rare and valuable geological treasure and can be regarded as a precious natural historical heritage in the world. The standard profile of the Middle and Upper Proterozoic strata is distributed in the north of Jixian City, east of the county town to Huangyaguan Road, starting from Changzhou Village at the northeast end of the county, and layered from northeast to southwest until it reaches Fujun Mountain near the county town. It is about 24 kilometers long from north to south, with an average width of about 350 meters from east to west, and a total area of 8.4 square kilometers. It is renowned for its unique features such as complete stratigraphy, continuous exposure, well preserved, clear top and bottom, simple structure, extremely shallow metamorphism, and abundant paleontological fossils. The total thickness of the strata is 9197 meters, with a section length of about 24 kilometers. It is divided into three stratigraphic units from old to new: the Great Wall Formation, the Jixian Formation, and the Qingbaikou Formation, including 11 groups and 105 layers. The overlying strata are the Lower Cambrian Fujunshan Formation, distributed in areas such as Laoluding; The underlying strata are the Precambrian Qianxi Group, distributed in places such as Changzhou Gou. The area has overlapping mountains and beautiful scenery. To the north is the winding and undulating Yellow Cliff Great Wall, to the south is the ancient cultural gathering place of Yuyang Ancient County, to the west is the "first mountain in Jingdong" - Panshan, and to the east is the Qingdong Mausoleum and the Eight Immortals Table Nature Reserve, adjacent to it. It is a holy land for scientific exploration and sightseeing.
