Introduction
Zhu Gui was a national hero who sacrificed his life in Dabaoshan, Cicheng Town, Ningbo during the Opium War to resist British aggression. In the summer of the 21st year of the Qing Dynasty's Daoguang reign (1841), the British army invaded Ningbo, and Zhu Gui was ordered to lead his troops to set up camp at Dabao Mountain in Cicheng. On the fourth day of the first lunar month in 1842, the British army attacked Dabao Mountain. Zhu Gui commanded the defending army to fight bravely, but ultimately sacrificed heroically due to being outnumbered. To commemorate the father and son of Zhu Gui and the fallen anti British soldiers, the local people raised funds to build the "Zhu Gui Temple". The temple was built in the 23rd year of the Qing Dynasty's Daoguang reign (1843), and currently has Qing Dynasty inscriptions such as the "Ciguo Temple Stele", "Cixi Dabao Mountain Wuxian General Temple Stele", and "Inscription on the Restoration of Zhu General Temple". In 1984, the local government built the "Tomb of the Fallen Soldiers of Dabao Mountain" on the hillside behind the Zhugui Temple in Dabao Mountain. Not far from the tombstone is the place where the leader of the invading British army, Hua Er, was killed by the Taiping army. There is a stone monument here, engraved with the words' Wall's Killing Site '.
