1. Haotang
Village Introduction: Haotang Village in Pingqiao District, Xinyang City became a pilot of land transfer reform in 2009, and Li Changping, the president of China Rural Construction Design Institute, put his "embedded finance" theory into practice here. In order to explore the beautiful scenery of the countryside, Haotang circulated 205 acres of paddy fields in the village and dug hundreds of acres of lotus ponds deep into them. In summer, the ponds were filled with wind and lotus, and the fragrance was pleasant, becoming the main landscape of rural tourism in the village. Haotang Village has readjusted its water system, renovated old houses, and restored the rural appearance of white walls, black tiles, and smoke rising from cooking. This makes Haotang Village stand out from neighboring villages that are busy building buildings like city dwellers. 2. Linfeng Village
Village Introduction: Linfeng Village is located in Zhuwa Village, Tangjie Town, Jiaxian County, 13 kilometers southeast of Jiaxian County, Pingdingshan City. It is known as the "first red stone ancient village in the Central Plains". Here, three Ming Dynasty buildings, over 400 Qing Dynasty buildings, and more than 20 intact quadrangle courtyards are preserved, making it an exhibition hall of Ming and Qing Dynasty residential architecture. During the Xianfeng period, banditry was rampant in western Henan. The prominent Zhu family was worried about being robbed, so they tore down the earthen walls and brought in red sandstone from nearby Ziyun Mountain. They adopted a structure of outer stones and inner soil, combined with two moats, to firmly surround Zhuwa Village. So came this' Red Stone Ancient Fortress' Village Introduction: Luojiezhai is located deep in the southern Taihang Mountains. Climbing up to Luojiezhai requires climbing a mountain peak that is over 500 meters high. The ancient village is situated on the top of a flat mountain peak. The natural scenery and quaint lifestyle of Luojie Village attract more and more backpackers to explore the mountains. Legend has it that Luo Jie Zhai was named after Li Shimin's lover Luo Guixiang who set up camp here. The highest peak in Luojie Village is called Ant Mountain, with an altitude of 1672 meters. Near this mountain, small animals such as rabbits and mice are rare because the ants there feed on these small animals. Someone has seen a large snake with a thick wrist surrounded by ants, bitten and rolling on the ground, leaving only a pair of bones in less than two hours. Ants dominate this mountain but never migrate outward. From Huixian County, you can reach Wanxian Mountain Scenic Area along S229 or walk to Guoliang Village Village Introduction: Xihe Ancient Village is located in Xihe Dawan, Xihe Village, Zhouhe Township, Xinxian County, in the hinterland of the Dabie Mountains at the border of Henan and Hubei provinces. It is 400 meters long from east to west and about 100 meters wide from north to south, covering an area of 60 acres and has more than 150 houses. This village with 88 households and 388 villagers was formed in the late Ming Dynasty. The Zhang family in Xihe used local materials and earth bricks and stone bricks to build their residences. Although these distinctive dwellings have been renovated several times, they still retain their original flavor and antique charm. The most eye-catching one is the Zhang family ancestral hall built during the Qianlong period, with folk brick carvings on the upper and left and right sides of the gate. In the past decade or so, with the approval of higher authorities, the production of antique bronze ware in Yanyunjian has shifted from "underground" to public. However, Wanggongzhuang Village has become famous both domestically and internationally in just ten years. Out of the 1366 people in the village, more than 800 are engaged in industries related to tiger painting, with an annual sales of over 30000 tiger paintings and a sales revenue of 60 million yuan. Entering Wanggongzhuang Village, you can see a straight cement road lined with countless art studios, framing shops, painting equipment shops, and more on both sides of the road. In the 1970s, Bai Ma renovated and invited Guo Yishan, a villager from Pingle Village, to take charge of the painting and carving of the doors and windows of the the Shakya ManiHall.
