@Temple of Heaven Park, formerly known as "Temple of Heaven and Earth", is located at No. 7 Dongli, Temple of Heaven, Dongcheng District, Beijing. It was first built in the 18th year of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty (1420) and renamed "Temple of Heaven" in the 9th year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1530). It was a site for emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties to "worship heaven" and "pray for valleys", with a total area of 273 hectares. It is the largest surviving ancient * * architectural complex in China. On January 1, 1918, it was designated as Temple of Heaven Park and opened to the public

Temple of Heaven Park is surrounded by two altar walls and divided into two parts: the "Inner Altar" and the "Outer Altar"; The northern part of the domain is circular, while the southern part is square, symbolizing "the sky is round and the earth is square"; It mainly consists of four ancient architectural complexes: the "Prayer for Grain Altar" for praying for a bountiful harvest in spring, the "Round Hill Altar" for offering sacrifices to the heavens on winter solstice, the Zhai Palace where the emperor resided in front of him, and the Shenle Hall for practicing rituals and music; The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests in the Temple of Prayer for Grain is a landmark building in Beijing. There are a large number of ancient Berlin trees planted outside the Temple of Heaven Park
