Yangzhuoyongcuo is located next to the Yanghu Scenic Area of Provincial Highway 307 in Gongga County, Shannan City, Xizang Autonomous Region. It is called the three holy lakes in Xizang together with Namtso and Mapangyongcuo, between 90.08-91.45 east longitude and 28.27-29.12 north latitude. The lake covers an area of 638 square kilometers.
