Weizhou Island is located in the central part of the Beibu Gulf in Beihai City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It borders Beihai City to the north, Leizhou Peninsula in Zhanjiang City to the east, Xieyang Island to the southeast, Hainan Island across the sea to the south, and Vietnam to the west
Weizhou Island is 6.5 kilometers long from north to south and 6 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of 24.74 square kilometers. The highest elevation of the island is 79 meters. Weizhou Island is an island formed by volcanic eruptions and condensation, with over 95% of its strata composed of volcanic rocks. It has landscapes such as sea erosion, marine deposition, and lava, and is known as "Penglai Island". It is one of the youngest volcanic islands in China and the largest island in Guangxi
