Lake Selim

@Sayram Lake: a provincial-level tourist attraction and the fifth batch of national level scenic spots. It is the last place favored by the warm and humid air currents of the Atlantic Ocean in Xinjiang, and is known as the "tear in the Atlantic"

Sailimu Lake, formerly known as "Jinghai", is located in the northern Tianshan Mountains of Bole City, Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang, adjacent to Huocheng County, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture. The lake has an elevation of 2071 meters, with a maximum length of 29.6 kilometers from east to west and a maximum width of 25.7 kilometers from south to north. It covers an area of 458 square kilometers and has a storage capacity of 21 billion cubic meters. The lake water is clear and transparent, with a transparency of 12 meters

Sayram Lake had no fish at all. In 1998, it introduced cold water fish farming from Russia, such as high white salmon and concave eye white salmon. In 2000, it caught finished fish for the first time, ending the history of no fish production in Sayram Lake. Sailimu Lake Scenic Area is divided into six functional areas: the scenic area around the lake, the grassland nomadic style area, the ecological landscape conservation area, the swan and other rare bird habitat protection area, the tourism comprehensive service area, and the original ecological environment preservation area. Three special grade protected areas have been identified, including the central core water body of Lake Selim, the habitat of the Swan Wetland Grassland water body in Xihai, and the Chagan Guole Ice and Snow Ecological Exploration Scenic Area. On April 13, 2018, it was shortlisted for the "Magical Northwest 100 Scenic Spots". On April 15, 2021, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced that it plans to designate the Sailimu Lake Scenic Area in Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region as a national 5A level tourist attraction
