Scenic spot description
@Karakule Lake is a plateau lake located at the foot of the Mustag and Gonggeer Ice Peaks in Brunkou Township, Aktao County, on the Pamir Plateau. The two lakes are only about ten kilometers apart in a straight line, but their scenery is vastly different. Karakule Lake is about 160 kilometers away from Aktao County and 220 kilometers away from Artux City. It has an altitude of 3600 meters, an area of 10 square kilometers, and a depth of over 30 meters. Due to the deep and gloomy lake water, it is named "Karakule" (meaning Black Lake in Kyrgyz language). Karakule Lake is rich in grass and birds, with beautiful scenery and legends of water monsters, adding a charming touch to the scenic spot. To the east of the lake stands the "father of glaciers" Mount Mustag, while to the west stands the winding Sarkuole Mountains; To the south of the lake is a grassland. As summer approaches, the water here is clear and the grass is abundant. The lake and mountains are beautiful, and the green grassland is dotted with white felt houses, reflecting the clear reflection of icebergs in the lake water, just like the ancient poem 'The wind blows the grass low, and cattle and sheep are seen'. The pastoral songs on the grassland and the wild ducks on the lake are like a dream. It's no wonder even King Mu of Zhou in the 10th century BC sighed and sighed deeply. Artux Travel Agency has opened a tourist restaurant on the shores of Lake Karakul, and has specially hired chefs from Kyrgyz, Uyghur, Han and other ethnic groups to cook different ethnic dishes for tourists. In recent years, domestic and foreign tourists have flocked to Lake Karakul due to its reputation#
