Tang Dynasty Never Sleeps City

Datang Never Night City is located at the foot of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Yanta District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. It starts from the South Square of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in the north, ends at the Tang City Wall Site in the south, starts from Ci'en East Road in the east, and ends at Ci'en West Road in the west. The block is 2100 meters long from north to south and 500 meters wide from east to west, with a total construction area of 650000 square meters. It is the only large-scale Tang style building complex pedestrian street in China with the background of the prosperous Tang culture and is a local landmark scenic spot

Datang Never Night City is set against the backdrop of the prosperous Tang Dynasty culture, with the elements of Tang style as the main thread. It has four major squares: the North Square of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Xuanzang Square, Zhenguan Square, and Chuangling New Era Square. Four cultural venues, including Xi'an Concert Hall, Shaanxi Grand Theater, Xi'an Art Museum, and Qujiang Pacific Film City, have been built. It is the first choice for showcasing and experiencing Tang culture in Xi'an, with five major cultural sculptures including Tang Buddhist culture, Tang Qunying Pu, Zhenguan Zhi Zhi, Wu Hou Cong, and Kaiyuan Shengshi@On April 29, 2019, Datang Sleepless City Pedestrian Street was listed as one of the first 11 pilot projects for pedestrian street renovation and upgrading in China. In July 2020, Datang Night City Pedestrian Street was selected as one of the first batch of national demonstration pedestrian streets

On May 1, 2023, Shaanxi announced that during the May Day holiday in Xi'an Datang Night City, all performances will be adjusted to daytime to prevent potential safety hazards caused by excessive night crowds.
