Cultural Activities

Cultural Stories

It is said that there is a precious fish called "Bita Heavy lipped Fish" growing in the Bita Sea. It is an ancient fish that was left over from the Quaternary Glacier period at 155#. Its meat is tender and delicious, and it is one of the best fish foods. But Pudacuo belongs to the Tibetan area, where Tibetans practice sky burial and water burial. Fish eat human flesh, so Tibetans do not eat fish

The Bita heavy lipped fish lives in the Bita Sea, but no one catches it. Moreover, this fish is usually hidden deep at the bottom of the lake and rarely docks. Therefore, the Tibetan people regard it as a divine fish, and those who can see the divine fish are very lucky

Mythology and Legends

Legend has it that the mirror accidentally shattered while the celestial maiden was dressing up, forming many plateau lakes. Bitahai is one of the most beautiful lenses set with emerald green. There is also a legend that this is the "Poison Lake" mentioned in the biography of King Gesar. The Battle of Jiangling reached Bitahai. Due to the ice and snow, the lake was shrouded in mist. The knights of Lingguo forced their enemies into the lake and were submerged. The victorious Jiangguo believed that this was the result of the protection of the Bitahai Mountain God and built a temple on the small hill. Some people say that this island was a summer retreat for the Ming Dynasty Naxi tribe's Wood Heavenly King, while others say it was a temple built by treasure hunters
