Jiayuguan City Tower, located in the urban area of Jiayuguan City, Gansu Province, China, is an ancient pass building. The city tower was built during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty and was one of the important buildings for defense in the northwest border of the Ming Dynasty. The Jiayuguan City Tower has a history of over 600 years and is a great miracle of ancient Chinese architecture, as well as an important heritage of ancient Chinese culture
Jiayuguan City Tower is about 11 meters high with a total construction area of 2400 square meters. The tower has three floors, each with an arrow tower and a city gate. The main structure of the city tower is made of brick and wood, and the exterior walls are made of gray bricks with a thickness of about 3 meters. There are moats and city walls around the city tower, forming a strong defense system
