Later, a small temple was built on the Zhama Zhisang site, which not only housed statues of Chizu Dezan and Chisong Dezan, but also enshrined the roots of two sandalwood trees, which looked dark and ancient. The legend about this magical tree root is that when Chisong Dezan was born, umbilical cord blood dripped onto the ground, resulting in the growth of two red and white sandalwood trees, which were transformed by the spirits of Chisong Dezan and Princess Jincheng. From then on, believers and pilgrims worshipped this holy relic for generations
