Introduction to Zhalute Green Beans
Zhalute Banner is the most abundant green space on the Khorchin Grassland in Inner Mongolia. People who have been here are attracted by its unique landscape and ethnic charm, and call it Zhalute "unique"
The people of Zhalute Banner are not intoxicated by people's praise. Today, they are combining their abundant resource advantages with modern technological civilization to effectively develop and utilize green products on the grassland. If you visit this place during the summer season and stroll into the grassland where "the wind blows and the grass is low, and cattle and sheep are seen", passing through the swaying secondary forest sea in the wind, you will occasionally see green waves covering the ground like grasslands - bean fields. Zhalute has a long history of planting mung beans. Here, there are many slopes, thick soil layers, ample sunshine, and concentrated rainfall in July and August. The special natural environment and climate conditions make Zhalute mung beans unique in the mung bean family: the growth period is 90-95 days, the seeds are full, uniform, and have strong luster, with the elegant names of "Da Ming Green" and "Xiao Ming Green". The protein and starch content is as high as 30% and 60%, respectively. It is a pure natural pollution-free food with functions of clearing heat, detoxifying, and relieving summer heat. Initially, Zhalute mung beans were mainly sold to the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions. In recent years, the market has rapidly expanded and entered the Japanese market in 1998. This year, in addition to being sold to South Korea and Japan, the market has expanded to many countries and regions in Southeast Asia. With the continuous rise of the popularity of mung beans in Zhalute, the Zhalute people have made the expansion and intensive cultivation of it a key focus of local agricultural structural adjustment, leading to the continuous expansion of industrialization scale. Among the 2 million acres of farmland in the entire banner, the planting area of mung beans has reached 800000 acres, with an annual output of over 75 million kilograms, and the industrial chain has been basically formed
On December 17, 2019, Zhalute mung beans were officially included in the "National List of Famous, Special and Excellent New Agricultural Products"
