Small wetlands divide the lake into bays of various sizes. On the sparse willow trees standing in the lake, there is a group of cormorants parked; In the shallow bay and along the shore, there is a large group of wild ducks, either fiercely searching for fish and shrimp, or sleeping with their necks crossed. Occasionally, two roosting red mallard ducks would pounce on the edges and fly, lazily flapping their wings with nearby waterfowl. According to surveys, there are a total of 57 species of birds in the Lashihai Wetland, with about 30000 birds wintering here every year. Among them, there are 9 unique, rare, and endangered bird species, including the Tibetan Plateau endemic species, the spotted goose, and national first-class protected bird species such as the Chinese mermaids, black necked cranes, and black cranes. Therefore, in June 1998, the provincial government officially approved the establishment of the Lashihai Plateau Wetland Nature Reserve in Lijiang, Yunnan, which includes four areas: Lashihai, Wenhai, Jizi Reservoir, and Wenbi Reservoir, with a total area of 6523 hectares. The main part of the Lashihai area covers an area of 5330 hectares and has become a habitat for birds
