Introduction
& nbsp; The Yotkan Site is located in Airaman Village, Bagqi Township, 11 kilometers west of Hotan City, with Hailiqi Cliff to the north and Alareba Village and Yalangan Village to the east. This site is an important settlement site in the ancient Khotan region. From the distribution of modern ruins, there are no traces of ancient architecture and the outline of the city is unknown. The unearthed cultural relics of all dynasties come from the cultural layer below 5 meters from the surface, with a thickness of about 3 meters. There is a cultural layer exposed on the surface in the northeast corner of the site, with dense distribution of pottery shards. The cultural relics unearthed throughout history include terracotta figurines, pottery fragments, ancient coins, glass shards, beads, gold castings, art seals, jade blocks, bones, and other cultural relics. Terracotta warriors are mostly people, animals, etc. Most pottery fragments are engraved, pressed, and have additional patterns and reliefs, with themes such as geometric patterns, plant patterns, characters, and animals, and a strong Persian and Greek style. There are various types of ancient coins. Numerous gold plaques and artifacts have been unearthed throughout history, all of which were melted and destroyed by the local people. In 1959, a gold duck and a Tang Dynasty "Qianyuan Zhongbao" coin were unearthed. The gold duck was exquisitely crafted and had a shape similar to the duck in the Tang Dynasty murals of the Thousand Buddha Cave in Dunhuang. Sven Heding also excavated Christian gold coins, crosses, and a gold medal, indicating that during the existence of the site, two missionaries came here to preach, thereby proving that the site is an important and influential site. At present, a swamp depression with an area of about 0.3 square kilometers and a depth of 8 meters below ground level is included in the protected area. According to the analysis of unearthed cultural relics, the Yotkan site existed during the Han to Ning dynasties. The city had a great influence in the West, and the unearthed cultural relics fused Eastern and Western cultures, making it an ideal place for studying the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures. The Yotegan Site is a key cultural relic protection unit at the autonomous region level and is currently under land protection. Due to its renowned reputation and popularity among tourists from various countries, the site is now included in regular tourist routes and attracts an endless stream of visitors every year
