Formerly known as Lulongsai. In the eleventh year of the Jian'an reign of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Cao Cao launched a northern expedition against Wuhuan, which served as a military stronghold from the Han, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties to the Sui, Tang, Liao, Jin, Yuan and other dynasties. The Panjiakou New Pass was built in the 41st year of the Ming Dynasty's Jiajing reign (1562), and the Luan River flowed into the entrance. The dangerous rocks on both sides were towering, and the situation was very dangerous. The Ming Dynasty stationed heavy troops here to build a city. In 1975, the state diverted water from the Luan River to Tianjin to build the Panjiakou Reservoir. The reservoir injected water across the Great Wall, and the two gates of Panjiakou and Xifengkou, as well as the surrounding Great Wall, were submerged in the water, forming a unique "underwater Great Wall" landscape. The shape of the Great Wall in the reservoir area is varied, winding up along the mountain ridge, with more than ten enemy towers and peak fire platforms on the peak, overlooking the sky. The scenery in the scenic area is like a "Ten Mile Gallery", with thousands of hectares of blue waves and sparkling waters in the reservoir area, green mountains on both sides, and overlapping peaks. It can be called the "Three Gorges of the North, Yan Sai Li River"
