Introduction
Tuheluk Timur Khan was the seventh generation descendant of Genghis Khan and a legendary Chagatai queen. In the year 1346 AD, at the age of only 16, Tuhiruktu Timur was crowned as the Khan of Mughal Pradesh and converted to Islam at the age of 18. In 1352 AD, he forced his 160000 Mongolian followers to convert to Islam, thus accelerating the spread of Islam in Xinjiang. In March 1360, he launched a war to unify the Hezhong region, briefly unifying the Chagatai Khanate. In 1363, after the death of Tuheirukh Timur Khan, he was buried in the eastern suburbs of Ali Mahler City, which is now located in the northeast of Huocheng County, in the hemp pot. A grand dome shaped tomb was built for him, and he was buried according to Islamic funeral rites. Mazha, in Arabic, means tomb. The main entrance of the sleeping hall faces east, and the front wall is decorated with various geometric patterns made of 26 specifications of glazed tiles in purple, blue, and white. The door is decorated with blue glazed tiles and embedded with Arabic hymns. The entire building has a solemn and ancient appearance, elegant and magnificent. There are no wooden pillars or beams inside the hall. The four walls are spacious and can be climbed to the top by stairs. It is the oldest building with Islamic style in Xinjiang and is listed as a key cultural relic protection unit in the autonomous region. Above the tomb gate, there is an Arabic inscription that reads' Light of Islam ', which is a tribute to the deceased. Nowadays, Muslims and tourists from both China and abroad often come to worship and visit. There is also a dome shaped tomb parallel to this tomb, but on a slightly smaller scale. It is said to be the tomb of the younger sister of Tuheluk Timur Khan, which is also well preserved. Tuheiruk Timur Khan Mazha is the oldest Islamic architecture in Xinjiang.
