Introduction
Huolong Cave is located at Jieliangzi, about 15 kilometers northeast of Huiyuan Town, and can be reached by walking 3 kilometers north from Wuyi Highway. Legend has it that more than 150 years ago, wisps of ethereal smoke emanated from many cracks on the desolate Baiyun Mountain. Some passers-by who rest, keep warm, or are curious, intentionally or unintentionally, enter hot caves. After entering the caves, people not only relieve their fatigue and get warm, but also are surprised to find that their old ailments have disappeared into thin air. So, the magical, mysterious, and chaotic legends about the Hot Air Cave spread like wildfire, and became more and more legendary. This is the unique and magical Fire Dragon Cave in Yili. Originally, Huolong Cave was a geothermal resource naturally formed in underground coal fields. It overflows from the fractured crevices and contains various minerals that can treat various diseases. The local people call these places Fire Dragon Caves. The Fire Dragon Cave indeed makes people feel mysterious and peculiar. Within the same mountain range, some caves have temperatures as high as over 100 degrees Celsius, while others give a warm and cozy feeling. Some caves emit an invisible gas that steams people, while others release misty clouds and mist. Some caves emit steam mixed with icy water droplets. The performance and efficacy of caves belonging to the same mountain range vary greatly. Due to the natural nature of the coal seam, the nearby rock layers exhibit colors such as brownish red, orange yellow, and gray white, with a predominantly red color band in appearance. The surface vegetation is sparse and mostly desert vegetation.
