Introduction
Tuhuluk? Tiemu'erhan Mazha is located in Mazha Township, 38 kilometers northwest of Huocheng County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is a descendant of Chagatai Khan, the second son of Genghis Khan (1162-1227 AD), Tuhuluk? The tomb of Timur Khan. Mazha "is a transliteration of Arabic, meaning" holy land "or" saint's tomb ". Tuhuluk? Timur Khan ascended to the throne of Khan in 1346 and officially converted to Islam in 1354. He was the earliest Mongolian Khan in Xinjiang to practice Islam and devoted himself to promoting it during his reign. After his death in 1363, later generations built a grand Mazha to promote his merits. Mazha fully adopts the Arabic architectural form, with a square plan and a brick arched roof for the sleeping hall. There are no wooden columns or beams inside the hall. The main entrance faces east and is arched. On both sides of the door are inscriptions written in Arabic praising Khan and Khan. On the front wall of Mazha, purple, blue, and white glazed tiles are used, with more than 20 geometric patterns and plant patterns embedded. Tuhuluk? Tiemu'erhan Mazha is one of the famous ancient Islamic buildings in Xinjiang, and the main body of the building is still well preserved. It is an important relic for studying and verifying the religious changes, ethnic relations, and architectural art in Xinjiang after the Yuan Dynasty, and has high historical value.
