The production method of Xishan paper

Xishan paper fully inherits Cai Lun's papermaking process. It is made from the high-quality raw material of Longqi Mountain - tender bamboo, so Xishan paper is also known as "bamboo paper". The production process of Xishan paper is very complicated, requiring 28 steps including cutting tender bamboo, cutting tubes, peeling, sprinkling lime, soaking and bleaching, pickling, peeling bamboo and hemp, pressing, knife groove, stepping, plowing, papermaking, drying, sorting, and cutting. 1. Lime soaked bamboo

Every year from Grain Rain to Beginning of Summer, paper workers go up the mountain to chop tender bamboo.

2. Peel bamboo and hemp

After two or three months, wait for the fence to ripen and turn yellow and corrode. The paper workers take out the bamboo material and wash it, then put it in the lake pond and rinse it with spring water. 4. Papermaking

5. Baking paper
