Introduction to Qishan Yam
Qishan Medicine, also known as Huai Yam or Ma Yam, is a top-grade herb in the "Ben Jing" and the root and stem of the Dioscorea plant in the Dioscoreaceae family. The original name of this sutra was Dioscorea, but due to the Tang Dynasty Emperor's name Yu, it was changed to Potato Medicine to avoid taboo. Later, it was changed to Yam due to the Song Dynasty Emperor Yingzong's name Shu. Yam is produced in most parts of the country, especially in the Huaiqing Prefecture area of Henan Province, where the yield is high and the quality is excellent, hence it is known as "Huai Yam". Because yam is a dual-purpose medicinal and edible variety with a large expansion area, the production in the Anguo area of Hebei Province is very large, and its products are distributed in the Anguo distribution center, hence it is called "Qishan Medicine"
